  • Product Description
  • A cable is a device composed of a conductor encased in insulation, protective layers, shielding, and other components, designed to transmit electrical energy or signal currents and voltages. Depending on the voltage level, cables can be categorized into high-voltage cables and low-voltage cables. Although low-voltage cable systems are more expensive to install and maintain—and require greater effort for laying and upkeep—compared to low-voltage overhead lines and low-voltage insulated overhead lines—they have gained widespread use in low-voltage distribution systems due to their reliable operation, the absence of pole installations, no land occupation, clean and aesthetically pleasing appearance, and minimal susceptibility to external environmental factors.

    Low-Voltage Cable Structure

It consists of three main parts: the conductor core, the insulation layer, and the protective layer. The conductor core is responsible for conducting electric current and is typically made by twisting multiple strands of copper or aluminum wire together. Low-voltage cables come in various types, such as single-core, double-core, triple-core, and quadruple-core. Among these, the double-core cable is used in single-phase circuits, while the triple-core and quadruple-core cables are employed in three-phase three-wire and three-phase four-wire systems, respectively. Depending on the application, a single-core cable can be used either in single-phase or three-phase circuits. Currently, commonly used low-voltage cable conductor cross-sectional areas include 10, 16, 25, 35, 50, 70, 95, 120, 150, 185, and 240 square millimeters, among others.
