Product Overview
Low-smoke, halogen-free wires and cables produce minimal smoke when exposed to flames and release gases that contain no toxic halogens. In the event of a fire, these cables significantly reduce harm to both equipment and human health, making them widely used in high-rise buildings, hospitals, large libraries, sports stadiums, disaster-prevention command centers, railway stations, civil airports, passenger waiting areas, key cultural heritage sites, as well as subways, underground shopping malls, and other densely populated public spaces. Our company has developed and manufactured plastic-insulated wires and cables rated up to 35 kV, whose performance not only meets the stringent requirements specified in GB/T 12706-2008, GB/T 5023-2008, GB/T 9330-2008, and DJO8-93-2002 but also boasts a comprehensive product line—including flame-retardant, fire-resistant, and, most notably, low-smoke, halogen-free variants. These products precisely adhere to the national standards GB/T 17650-1-2-1998 and GB/T 17651-1-2-1998. Furthermore, following a rigorous national-level scientific and technological novelty search, our low-smoke, halogen-free cables have been confirmed to reach the advanced domestic level compared to similar products on the market.

(2) The classification of buildings not listed in this table can be determined by applying the principle of analogy to similar types of structures.2. When low-smoke, halogen-free wires and cables are installed in bundled configurations, flame-retardant cables should be used. The selection of the flame-retardant rating must comply with the table below. Additionally, in locations where circuit integrity must be maintained and power supply sustained even under external fire conditions, fire-resistant wires and cables should be employed.

(1) The maximum operating temperature for wire and cable conductors, as well as the maximum temperature during a short circuit (with a maximum duration of no more than 5 seconds): - For low-smoke, halogen-free polyvinyl chloride insulation: 70°C, with a maximum short-circuit temperature not exceeding 160°C. - For cross-linked polyethylene insulation: 90°C; for thermoplastic low-smoke, halogen-free polyolefin insulation: 80°C, with a maximum short-circuit temperature not exceeding 250°C. - For irradiation-crosslinked polyethylene insulation: 105°C or 125°C, with a maximum short-circuit temperature not exceeding 250°C.
(2) The installation conditions and allowable continuous current-carrying capacity of low-smoke, halogen-free cables are identical to those of their corresponding non-low-smoke, halogen-free cable wires.
(3) The cables and wires exhibit low-smoke, halogen-free, flame-retardant, and fire-resistant properties during combustion, with specific performance indicators detailed in Table 6.2.12.
